To complete their hair apprenticeship, our expert hair stylists work with hair models as part of their training. Jyl Craven Hair Design apprentice hair stylists and colorists are trained to the highest standards first with artificial hair models before they work with a real hair model selected from our hair model program. As a Jyl Craven hair model, you will help us during an advanced haircutting & coloring training session under the direction of our educational director. Why become a hair model?

Get a great haircut for less money. The Jyl Craven hair model program provides an excellent opportunity for you to get a premium haircut for 75% less than our normal salon prices. Our training environment also gives you the opportunity to observe how haircutting (or coloring) is taught.

Are you considering applying for a hair design apprenticeship? When you participate as a hair model, you get an especially valuable opportunity to observe an instructor work with an apprentice on the technical aspects of haircutting and coloring.

What you can expect as a hair model

You’ll be glad to know that you can get an excellent haircut without sacrificing quality. As a hair model, you typically do not get to choose your haircut or hair color. Even so, you may choose from a selection of hairstyle categories.

What if I don’t like my haircut?

We’ve never had a hair model dislike the results of their haircutting or coloring service. As our guest, we want you to be satisfied with our services.

Will you be taking photos or video? Before, During, After photos?

As a company, we usually don’t take photos. Although, an apprentice may ask for your permission to take before & after photos to help them find more models to work on in class and to begin building their own social media profiles. There is no requirement to be photographed and you may decline any requests for photos.

Type of hair required for models

You don’t have to be the double of Kylie Jenner or Cameron Dallas to become a hair model. We are looking for hair models with all types of hair. There is no particular length, texture, or color requirement to become a Jyl Craven hair model. We accept applications from men and women age 18 and older.

Hair Model Appointment FAQs

Hair model appointment times are limited.
Your hair appointment will take 2 – 3 hours.
You must be willing to adhere to desired haircut and style. Please do not ask to alter the requested look as these cutting and coloring techniques are integral to the development of the stylist.
Your services will be performed by a qualified hairdresser or a future stylist completing their course of study in precision haircutting or coloring. All services are supervised by the salon’s Director of Education.
